Babuji Memorial Ashram is located in Shri Ram Chandra Mission Road, in Manapakkam, in the capital city of Chennai, in the state of Tamil Nadu, in Southern India. It is located within the city limit and just behind the region of Chennai Airport. It is just a few miles away from the main that leads from Guidy to Porur. Those who are coming by plane can arrive at Chennai international and domestic airport and hire "prepaid" taxis to reach this ashram. It will cost only a few bugs by call taxi. The ashram is very close to Guindy station. Those who are reaching by train at the Chennai Central station or the Egmore station can catch the Suburban train traveling from Chennai Beach to Tambaram and get in from Park station or Egmore station to alight at Gundy station. A person can reach the ashram gate by hiring a share auto or taxi from Gundy station. Those who are coming by government bus can use the 88 series or 54 series busses can get down at Ramavaram that is known popularly as MGR Garden. The public bus that reaches the Main gate of the ashram is Bus #54RR and #54B. The best time to visit this location is during December to January. On the other hand, it can be visited throughout the year for meeting the needs and requirements of the enthusiasts and seekers.

Babuji Memorial Ashram Manapakkam, Chennai, India

In the metropolis of Chennai in southern India, at Manapakkam, The world headquarters of Shri Ram Chandra Mission is located. This holy ashram is in honor of Shri Ram Chandra of Shahjahanpur (Babuji). It is to be remembered that Babuji is the founder and first president of this ashram. The Mission's several Centers of Light is this ashram. The inspiring architectural style and patterns of the buildings located in the ashram rightly blends with the beauty of the nature in its surrounding with a lot of perfection.

As per the daily schedule, the ashram's bell plays an important role in announcing the essential activities:

  • Morning chimes with 3 bell chimes at 5.00 am:

  • Lunch and dinner, 3 bell chimes at 12:30 pm and 7:30 pm on weekdays:

  • High tea and dinner with 3 bell chimes at 3 pm and 7:30 pm on Sunday:

Meditation Hall at Babuji Memorial Ashram

In the main meditation hall, Satsanghs are conducted. The schedule at this hall used for mediation and other religious and spiritual activities and functions are:

  • Weekdays and Saturdays Satsanghs at 6.30 am and 5.00 pm.

  • An additional weekday satsangh is held at 9:00 am.

  • Sundays Satsanghs at 7.30 am, and 4.30 pm.

  • Listen to the bell When Master is in this Ashram, so normal sitting times may vary to a great extent.

In the Meditation Hall, those who are interested and enthusiastic for participating in meditation activities and Satsang should arrive at least 15 minutes ahead of the scheduled time. They should mentally and physically get prepare for satsangh and meditation. They are supposed to switch off mobile phones. They are supposed to be seated until permitted to leave after all the activities are completed. They must perfectly observe silence in the hall. The course schedule and timing may vary due to some technical aspects prevailing in the ashram or as per the climatic conditions in the ashram. Otherwise, things are carried out as per the normal schedules only in the interest of the participants.

Yoga at Babuji Memorial Ashram

At this ashram, a regular yoga class and practice session is conducted for all those interested and enthusiastic participants for a short duration only. This yoga class with practical session is conducted by a qualified and vast experienced yoga expert within the ashram premises. Food at Babuji Memorial Ashram

In the dining hall, all meals are served for the inmates, staffs, participants, guest and visitors. The time table from Monday through Saturday is Breakfast is served between 7:30 - 8:30 am, Lunch is served between 12:30 - 1:30 pm and dinner is served between 7.30pm to 8.30pm. There is a slight variation in the Sunday time table, Brunch is served between 9:00 - 10:00 am, High Tea is served between 3:00 - 4:00 pm and Dinner is served between 7:30 - 8:30 pm. Within the ashram campus, there is a canteen that is situated just near the water tower. It provides all the basic food items such as mineral water, Indian snacks, sandwiches, ice creams, tea, cool drinks, coffee, and many more during celebrations or festive season. This canteen remains closed during meditation hours in the ashram. It is to be highly noted that timings are largely subject to vary so it is better to check out the official website of this ashram or call up the concerned authorities before dropping in. Dormitories at Babuji Memorial Ashram

It is to be highly noted that just below the meditation hall, the dormitories are situated. The inmates, staffs, participants, guest and visitors who are staying in this ashram are provided with mattresses, sheets, mosquito nets, and pillows. These said basic necessary items are readily available for rent at reasonable and affordable cost at the Bedding Counter near the dormitories. On the other hand, lockers are readily available for a nominal fee to the nmates, staffs, participants, guest and visitors to keep their personal belongings.

Babuji Memorial Ashram - Free Medical Center

On the side of the administrative building, in the Ashram, a free medical center is open. Adoctors is available normally in the evening hours from 6 pm to 7.30 pm. The doctors can be visited with an appointment between 9 am and lunch hours. The prescribed medicines are delivered inside the same building. On specific days, ophthalmology, Homeopathy, dentistry and other specialty clinic are also readily available.
