Shyam temple is located in Kachiguda Station Rd, in Barkatpura, near Kachiguda, in the Ranga Reddy district, in the state of Telangana, in South India. It is one of the most sought after temples in Hyderabad that is visited by large number of devotees and tourists round the year. This particular Hindu temple is known for performing North Indian traditional Hindu religious traditional and culture in South India with a lot of perfection.

Shyam Temple Religious Importance

According to the local legends, in Indian Great Epic named 'Geethopadesam' which is much popular among the Hindu religious devotees, Lord Krishna sanctity of his powerful and meaningful words directly focused a new lease of life story of Sri Shyam Baba which largely occupied a major tendency in the wholehearted minds of Hindu devotees to a large extent. It is to be highly noted that Sri Shyam Prabhu was the affectionate grand son of Bheem, the son of Veer Ghatotkach and the second brother among the 'Panchapandavas'. Moreover, he was also named Barbaric. On the other hand, as per Upadesa by Lord Sri Krishna Barbaric largely offered great devotion towards Bhagawathi Durga Mata. After being much happy with this particular Deviji directly appeared plus blessed him with three significant arrows of different types. It is to be remembered that when Barbaric went to witness the Mahabharat war, then Sri Krishna immediate transformed himself as a Brahmin and requested him to sacrifice his head. He immediately cut his head with his hands and offered to Sri Krishna. This particular deed is considered as great sacrifice. Sri Krishna blessed him with a rebirth in Kalyug as Shyam.

Shyam Temple Architectural Significance

The temple's architecture master plan was wholeheartedly prepared by Sri Ganapathi Satpati. It was in a successful manner passed by Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamy, Kanchipuram. Within the temple complex, there are beautiful temples that are dedicated to Lord Sri Shyam Baba, Lord Sri Radhakrishnaji and Lord Sri Laxminarayanaji. The temple premises consist of a large Kitchen Hall, a stage for Bhajans, Food Court and 2 big Halls with a total area of 30,000 sft. There is also an auditorium with lift facility that is directly available for three floors. The additional facilities are a generator and water purifier plant. The temple is constructed based on Rajasthani temple and North Indian temple architectural styles and patterns. Thus from architectural point of view, the temple is well architect, designed and more of all, it is well equipped with all the basic amenities which makes it easier for devotees during the mass gathering and during festival months to offer prayers.

Festivals at Shyam Temple

At this temple, except on Ekadashi, devotional bhajans are largely performed with lot of dedication and commitment by Shyam Mahila Mandal and devotees on all other days. It is to be remembered that devotees are encouraged to conduct different types of family functions on name of God, plus the entire temple facility is provided to them. It is to be highly noted that the 11th & 12th days of the bright half of each and every month in the Hindu religious calendar is of special importance to this temple. Almost all the festival here is celebrated with great pomp and show and devotees in great number turn out to offer prayer during the festival season.

Shyam Temple History

It is strongly believed that Sri Shyam Baba largely took Avatar at a village named Khatu that is just 17 km from Ringas, approximately 85km from Jaipur in the state of Rajasthan. There is a large temple that is dedicated to Sri Shyam Baba. It is at present a most sought after pilgrimage center in Northern India. It is to be remembered that in Hyderabad, a committee was perfectly formed in 1992, in the name of 'Sri Shyam Mandir Seva Samithi, Kachiguda, Hyderabad for the construction of the Sri Shyam Temple. On 5th May, 1994, the Bhoomi Pooja was grandly performed by Sri Bhawarlalji Badegaonwale under the presidentship of Sri Raghunathmalji Goel. On the 22nd of April 1996, this temple was inaugurated by Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamy and Sri Ananth Saraswathi Swamy.
