Lord Venkateswara Swamy Temple is located near Aliabad 'X' Roads, in Shamirpet, in Rangareddy district, in the state of Telangana, in South India. It is located nearly 2 Km from Shamirpet Lake and at a distance of 30 Km from Hyderabad. The original name of this temple is Venkateswara Swamy Temple but it is popular known among the adherent devotees as Ratnalayam. The primary deity of this temple is Lord Venkateshwara. There are sub-temples within the temple complex that are dedicated to Godess Padmavathi and Andalu Devi. In the surrounding of the main sanctum are situated temples with idols of Lord Ganesh, Lord Hanuman and Sri Vasavi Kanyaka Parmeshwari.

Venkateswara Swamy Temple Religious Significance

It is to be remembered that the main deity of Ratnalayam - Lord Venkateswara Swamy Temple very much resembles Lord Venkateswara of Tirumala in all aspects. It remain wide open on Monday to Friday from early morning 6am to 12 noon and from evening hours from 4pm to 8pm. During the weekend, it is open on Saturday and Sunday from early morning 6am to 1pm in noon and in the evening hours from 4pm to 9pm at night. This temple is situated in a peaceful atmosphere that inculcates true faith and devotion amidst adherent devotees who visits along with their family members, relatives and close friends. The temple is perfectly managed by Ratnalayam Charitable Trust. The various sevas and aradhanas performed at this temple are Suprabhata seva, Tomala Seva, Nakshatra Harati, Sahasranama Archana, Aragimpu (Naivedyam), Tirtha Prasada Gosthi, Madhyana Aradhana, Aragimpu and Pavalimpu Seva. The Arjitha Sevas that are performed in this temple are Archana, Kumkumarchana, Aakupooja, Tomala Seva, Sahasranama Archana, Pavalimpu Seva, Suprabhata Seva, Gopuja, Abhishekam to Utsava Moorties, Aksharabhyasam, Namakaranam, Annaprasana, Abhishekam, Kalyanam, Sri Satyanarayana Vratam, Prasada Viniyogam and Vahana Pooja for two wheeler plus four wheeler. All the religious activities and functions are conducted as per the vedic rules and regulation in a very strict manner at this temple.

Ratnalayam - Lord Venkateswara Swamy Temple is built as per the South Indian Hindu temple architectural style and pattern. The main attraction of this temple is its fully landscaped greenery and beautiful gardens with colorful plants and trees. There is a wonderful structure of the Shanku, Namam and Chakram that are very significantly related to the Lord in the form of a fountain which really gives a celestial look. On the other hand, the fountain largely depicts the divine scene of the Lord peacefully resting on Adishesha with his wives. It really adds more beauty plus glory to this shrine. The temple perfectly facilitates space for a Pravachanam Hall for various religious discourses, Kalyana Katta for tonsuring, a Yagashala for performing religious Yagams, lawns for resting, huge parking facility, and cafeteria and play area for children.

At Ratnalayam - Lord Venkateswara Swamy Temple, several Hindu significant festivals such as Brahmotsavam during the Dussehra, Satyanarayana Swamy Vratam on Pournami days, abhishekam to Lord Hanuman on Purva Bhadra Nakshatram, Abhishekam of Lord Ganesha on Suddha Chaviti day, Abhishekam and Kalyanam (the divine wedding) of Lord Venkateswara on Sravana Nakshatram and Navaratri are celebrated in this shrine in a religious manner. Most of the major and minor Hindu festivals are grandly celebrated with full participation of local devotees and people from rest of the state of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
